One of the most “instagrammable” places in Cyprus right now is the beautiful and magical cabin house in Dierona. The mountains, the forest and the architecture of the cabin house shape a unique scenery that is unreal for Cyprus. Usually such constructions are found in Northern Europe, where it seems to have originated as well. It is said that this house was built by two friends and therefore it is private property.

Personal comments

For some people such houses are memories from fairy tales or simply likes from Instagram posts from unreal places and for others are in their wish list for an overnight stay. I have seen such houses from my travels in Northern Europe like in Switzerland and Estonia and it is indeed incredibly beautiful. I guess that’s why it became so popular and viral in Cyprus. If you are planning to visit the area, please mind that this is private property and you must not attempt to cause any damage to anything found in the property.

How to get there

The cabin house is easily found if you follow the road F128 from Dierona to Akrounta. The cabin house is found in the same forest road where the country chapel of Prophet Elia is. To find the church of Prophet Elia you should take a right turn, after nearly ~3.5km from Dierona to Akrounta. Note that, at the time writing the article the road to Akrounta is blocked for road constructions, which is a few meters after the turn to Prophet Elia. By taking the right turn you enter the forest road, which is accessible from all kinds of cars. The below GPS Map shows the route to Prophet Elia church.
