Description
The trail “Teisia tis Madaris” (teisia means walls) is currently the most popular one in Cyprus and there is a reason for that. The trail belongs to the “Adelfoi” forest just like the Madari Natural Trail. Therefore are equally beautiful in the essence of vegetation and dense forest. However what makes it differ from any other trail is the steep, huge vertical rocks from one side and the cliffs from the other side that form an impressive and unique landscape. It is a circular trail of 3.5 km long and is considered as a moderate level trail. The elevation gain/loss is about 120 meters and the peak of the mountain is at 1580 meters. The trail needs approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to finish it.

Viewpoints
The path is incredibly beautiful with certain areas having a bench for resting and enjoying the view of Mesaoria plain and Morphou coast. The area of Madari has an interesting geology due to its vertical rocks and the steep cliffs. There are several points where these rocks are on the side of the cliff making the view one of a kind.
Starting points
You have the option to start the trail from two locations. Those are described below:
- Madari fire lookout (main starting point)
- Cyta’s antenna parking place
Personal comments
The specific trail became viral due to a hiker from the group Cyprus from air, who took a photo on one of the viewpoints of the trail during his hike. The photo is portraying a person trying to take a professional photo from the Madari’s mountains, literally being above the clouds and the colours of the sunset flooding the sky.
Even though it is a short trail it is characterised as medium due to its altitude variations and steep terrain. The trail is magical regardless of the day of time you choose or the season. It offers breathtaking and rewarding views and I totally recommend it.
Simply remember that the forests belong to all of us and we should respect nature, others and ourselves by throwing our trash in the bins or taking them back with us.
